Stroganoff….

It is 10 am and I cannot stop thinking about food! Unbelievable! FYI, I am on a diet…..
Anyway, I was thinking that there is no obstruction of Kashrut at the Chicken Stroganoff, right?! According to the Jewish dietary law, I am not supposed to "cook a kid in its mother's milk."
Actually in the early talmud days there would have been no problem mixing chicken and milk - technically this only applies to mammals. It is only a rabbinic fence that adds chicken to the restriction.
However, if you talk to an orthodox/conservative Jew, he will probably say that you are not supposed to eat chicken and milk because chicken is meat and it means life (bla, bla, bla...)
Well, this is what I love about Judaism, the discussion, the different points of view, the journey. The right to have a different opinion.

Yes, I did. :-) It was delicious! Actually, I am also thinking about cooking beef stronanoff with soy cream.... maybe this is another option less controversial...
